Joseph Christopher Kosko

December 21, 1952 — October 31, 2024

With a heavy heart, we announce Joseph Christopher Kosko's passing on October 31, 2024. He left us peacefully in his sleep at the age of 71. A beloved brother, father, and grandfather, "Chris" will be remembered for his neighborly kindness and charitable nature. He was always ready with a smile and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need, even strangers.

Born on December 21, 1952, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Chris grew up with his parents, Joseph and Carolyn (Pease) Kosko, and his brother and sister, David and Connie. Even from a young age, Chris was fond of automobiles and would spend his days watching cars speed down the dragstrip. He was a big fan of the Indianapolis 500, attending races with friends yearly. Chris was part of the last graduating class of Garfield High School in 1971.

Chris served his country in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic from 1972 to 1976. During this time, he met his wife, Laura Kamm, in Meridian, Mississippi. Laura and Chris had two children and one grandchild.

Always working with his hands, Chris spent his career as a mechanic working on anything that moved, especially cars and airplanes. He was proud of his work and loved to give his children tours of the aircraft he worked on while employed at Netjets in Columbus, Ohio, from 2002. Chris spent his spare time doing drywall projects everywhere he went, a true expression of his artistic talents.

Chris is survived by his daughter Alicia Sexton (E.J.) of Naples, Italy, son Christopher Kosko (Tracey Janule) of Scottsdale, Arizona, partner Teresa Veit of Columbus, Ohio, former spouse, Laura Kamm of Honolulu, Hawaii, brother David (Debra) Kosko of Cambridge, Ohio, sister Connie Hayes of Norwalk, Connecticut, grandson Jackson Sexton, and niece Olivia Hayes of Brooklyn, New York along with many cousins, friends and his beloved cats.

Chris will be interred at Calvary Cemetary in Terre Haute, Indiana, in July 2025. A reception to remember Chris's life will be held at the Hungarian Hall in Terre Haute, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Hungarian Workingmen's Sick & Death Benevolence Society of Terre Haute, Indiana, or LifeCare Alliance (Meals-on-Wheels) of Columbus, Ohio.
