Julia Ann Flay (Reed), 73, of Columbus, passed away August 28, 2024 peacefully in her home with her loving husband of 9 years, Dave Flay, by her side. Julie was born July 11, 1951 in Columbus to the late Conner and Beulah Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Richard Reed II and cousin Robert McKnight. She is survived by her husband Dave Flay; her three children, Brandon Reed, Michael (Monica) Reed, and Kelsey (Austin) Wyman; grandchildren Eva Reed, Anna Reed, Ravi Reed, Juno Reed, Malia Wyman, and Norah Wyman; dearest brother Tom (Karen) Howell; sister-in-law Pamela (Mike) Sheedy; nephews Ryan Howell, Alex Sheedy, and Sam Sheedy; and cousin Jackee McKnight.

Julie grew up in Upper Arlington and graduated from UA highschool with the class of 1969. She attended the Ohio State University and lived in Izmir, Turkey from 1970-1974. Julie later resided in Clintonville, Sunbury, and finally in Rittenhouse Square in Northwest Columbus. Julie cherished her close-knit Upper Arlington community of friends and families, and was actively involved in her reunion committee. Her Vineyard Church and Tree of Life communities were dear to her as she spent many years serving and supporting them in various capacities. She was an adventurous soul who bravely accepted each new chapter of her life with laughter and positivity. She loved her children and grandchildren immensely and celebrated every moment of her beautiful life. Julie fully embraced her role as Grandmother to her six granddaughters, sharing with them her love of shopping, back scratches, M&Ms, and cats. She impacted countless lives with her kindness, positivity, faith, and generosity. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
