Kamaraugh Cerise Ann “Kami” Moore-Houston

July 23, 1971 – August 12, 2026

Kamaraugh Cerise Ann Moore-Houston, affectionately known as “Kami,” passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2026, at the age of 55. Her passing leaves a profound loss for her family, friends, and the many people who were fortunate enough to be welcomed into her life.

Born on July 23, 1971, Kami was a beloved wife, sister, stepmother, family member, and friend. She loved to laugh, loved her family deeply, and found joy in music, travel, new experiences, and — perhaps more than anything —Christmas.

Christmas held a special place in Kami’s heart. Each year, she hosted an incredible pre-Christmas dinner that became much more than a meal. She opened her home and her table to countless loved ones, family members, friends, and even strangers who had a remarkable way of leaving as friends and family. Feeding people, bringing them together, laughing with them, and making sure everyone felt welcome was part of who Kami was. Her Christmas gatherings became a tradition that reflected the generosity and warmth with which she lived her life.

Kami also had a deep love of music and especially enjoyed experiencing it live. She loved to travel and spent many wonderful times with her husband, Mark, exploring new places and experiencing new things. Whether attending the ballet, seeing a favorite band perform, or simply discovering somewhere they had never been before, Kami and Mark built a life together filled with experiences and memories. She had an appreciation for the joy that could be found in getting out into the world and truly experiencing it.

At the center of it all was family. Kami loved her family fiercely, and the laughter, celebrations, meals, music, trips, conversations, and ordinary moments they shared became the fabric of a life that will not be forgotten.

Kami was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elizabeth Anna Wilson Moore; her father, Benjamin F. Moore Sr.; her sisters, Terry Boyd and Sylvia Caye McNeil; and her brother, Kreighten Moore.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Mark Houston; her stepson, Ivan Houston; her brothers, Kevin Moore, Benjamin (Kacie) Moore, and Karhlton Moore; and her sister, Karhla Moore; along with extended family, friends, and the many people whom Kami welcomed into her life and made to feel like family.

For those who knew Kami, her absence will be felt in countless ways — in a familiar laugh, a favorite song, a shared trip, a seat around the dinner table, and especially when Christmas comes around again.

But the best parts of Kami remain with the people who loved her. They remain in the stories that will be told about her, the laughter she inspired, the places and music she introduced to others, and the tradition of opening one's home and heart to people who need a place at the table.

Kami loved to laugh. She loved her family. She loved experiencing life. And she made room at her table for others.

That is a beautiful legacy.

She was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.
