Kathy Lee McManamon

Sep 8, 1970 — Jul 9, 2026

Kathy Lee (Poynter) McManamon, 55, of Lisbon, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2026, surrounded by family, in the comfort of her home after a long battle with melanoma. Born in Salem, Ohio on September 8th, 1970, Kathy graduated in 1988 from Southern Local High School. She went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1992 and later obtained her MSN from Otterbein College. Kathy was dedicated in her work as a nurse and educator; beloved by students and colleagues. She inspired and shaped the lives of many nurses. In her free time, Kathy loved to crochet, cook, watch 90s sitcoms, and read. She was deeply involved in breast cancer awareness in support of her late sister, Susan. Kathy was a nurturing and proud mother, a loyal friend, and a loving partner. Most of all, she cherished spending quality time with those she held close. Kathy radiated warmth to all those around her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Susan C. Poynter and her father, Merle L. Poynter, whom she held incredibly close to her heart and spoke of often. She is survived by her children; Greg, Chris, Becca, Danny, Matthew (Abbie), and Sam McManamon; her mother, Carol (Seevers) Poynter; her sister, Donna (Poynter) Tanner (Harold); her brother, Merle Poynter; and her partner, Mike Crawford.

Kathy will be remembered fondly for her candid sense of humor, strong will, and down-to-earth disposition. Kathy provided immense support for her six children, giving them all of the support and tools they needed to thrive in this world. She attended truly countless sporting events, bake sales, band recitals, art shows, graduations, and many other events. Kathy always showed up for her children, volunteering to coach and chaperone throughout their school years. Between being a pillar of support for her family and furthering her education and career, she formed meaningful lifelong friendships wherever she went. Kathy’s friends and colleagues speak of her with the utmost respect and endearment. She was a fierce advocate for her family, friends, students, and patients. Kathy’s vibrant personality and calming presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
