My beloved husband and best friend Kenneth Lowell Nicholas, 79, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away June 3, 2026 after a short battle with cancer and other complications. He was with loved ones in his final days at Pickerington Methodist Hospital + Pickering House.
Ken was a kind and gentle person. He won over the nurses and doctors during his hospital stay with his wonderful smile and great sense of humor. Many of them stopped by to chat and laugh when they were not ever part of his care team for that day. He so loved that!
Ken was very proud of his Masters Degree in American History from Ohio University and loved reading from his extensive collection of books. He was a history teacher of several school districts including Southern Local School District during his teaching years. He loved and grew up in Shawnee Ohio (Perry County) and later lived there for several years with his wife, Connie. They loved to travel and visited most of The 50 States. Mostly exploring historical battlefields, etc. Also they lived in Main + Utah for many years.
He is survived by his wife Connie whom he was married to for 56 years. Preceded in death by his parents, his devoted sister Eileen Salmans + Brother in Law Robert Salmans and BIL James Nutter.
Ken is survived by Sisters in Law Betty Nutter, Barbara (Steve) Sager + Christa Snedegar. He has many nieces and nephews, great + great Great cousins and extended family.
Ken was also a member of the Community of Christ Church. He loved his church family and friends and was devoted to the Lord!
A private service at New Lexington Cemetery on 7/1, Kens Birthday, will be celebrated.
