Lauren Tiffany “Tif” Martens, beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home. Tif was 35.
Tif was born to Constance “Connie” Probst and Jonathan “Jon” Martens on January 19, 1988 in Painesville, Ohio. She was a bright and curious little girl who loved playing store, reading, and spending time with her family. As a teenager, Tif enjoyed school, her friends and family, reading, and playing tennis. She graduated from Painesville High School in 2006 with honors and a varsity letter for tennis.
Tif’s deep love of animals burgeoned into a career as a dog groomer. Tif worked for many years at Petsmart. No longer being able to groom for health reasons, Tif tried call centers. She held several jobs in this field. She was not satisfied with her role as support assistant and enrolled in online classes.
Some of the most important aspects of Tif’s life were her daughter, her father’s mother, pets, and her love of reading which she shared with gramma Trudy. Anastasia Suzzann Martens, Tif’s daughter, was born on June 27, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. Ana passed away shortly after birth from complications. Losing Ana broke her heart. She had her baby’s feet tattooed above her heart. After ten years they are together again. “Grams” Harriet Martens and Tif were extremely close. The two lived together for years and were inseparable. This relationship was a beautiful and special bond. Tif loved her pets like they were part of the family. Tif referred to Dante as her heart dog and had him for just over twelve years.
Tif is preceded in death by her daughter Ana, uncle Ron McFadden, grandfather Larry Arkenburg, honorary grandma Trudy Wright, Dante, a german shepherd, and Breezy, a pug.
Tif leaves behind parents Connie and Chris Probst, Jon, and Lori Radabaugh, grandmothers Loretta Wolf and Harriet Martens, brother Ryan Arkenburg, aunt Debbie Coles, and uncles Guy and Mark Arkenburg. She also left behind her pets Papi, a chihuahua, and Lexi, a labrador-pit mix. Tif also loved her extended family; the Wrights, the Radabaughs, and the Hipples, especially Shaelynn.
In remembrance of Tif’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to CHA Animal Shelter. https://chaanimalshelter.org/donate/
