Leland (Doc) Stanford Ward III, 33, Lithopolis, ended his battle with brain cancer on January 14, 2022, in the presence of his immediate family and loved ones. Leland is survived by his Father, Leland Ward II (Dawn), his Mother, Kimberly Frazier (Richard), his sister Jessica Callahan (Andrew), step-brother Caden McColley, step-sister Virginia Frazier, grandparents Leland and Dona Ward and Carolyn Carles, nephews Graham Joseph and Jensen Andrew Callahan and niece, Emmeline Gail Callahan, numerous extended family members and friends, and a much cherished collection of Geckos etc (thank you Courtney and Shay). He also leaves behind a loving Fiancé of almost 13 years, Brittany Jo Perry, who remained committed to his love, care and quality of life throughout his entire illness. Leland was honored and proud to be part of the greatest community of reptile enthusiasts a person could ever ask for. His family could never put into words how they feel about the love and support offered to Leland throughout his illness from all of the many friends, neighbors and loved ones that offered their valuable time, money, and compassionate hearts to help Leland in his time of need. Leland was a very hard-working young man. He spent most of his working career in the employment of Boehringer Ingelheim/Westward Pharmacueticals where he developed life-long friendships. However, he was driven every day by his love and passion for the reptile industry and he left his position to create a business of his own, “DWGeckos and Terraria”. He worked very hard, to run his business and provide the best quality products he could for other animal enthusiasts such as himself (thank you Jamie for your unending support). He was very thankful for his customers and worked tirelessly even throughout his illness to fill orders and attend shows. It was truly his passion! Leland’s family would like to invite all of the family and friends that shared all aspects of Leland’s life, to visit during a celebration of his life on Saturday the 12th of February during the hours of 1-5pm at The Old Blue Rooster Event Center in Lithopolis, Ohio.
