Leo Robert King, 46, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in a car accident due to a medical emergency on August 28, 2025. Another person was injured in the crash, and knowing Leo, he would have taken that pain himself ~ if it had meant sparing someone else.
Leo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert D. King Sr. and Maxine King, Robert Yontz and Delores M. Yontz, and James W. Compton; his father, Robert “Bob” King; and his great-niece A’laija Marie King-Fallins.
Leo is survived by his son, Connor R. King; his mother, Judy L. King; his other half and family, Heather L. Ordonez, Anya and Elisa; his sister, Deanna M King; his nieces, Ashleigh R. King, Rylynn M . King and Leah N. King. His great nephews and nieces, Tay’vion R. Chuckes, T’leigha L. Chuckes, Tyrell L. Chuckes, Nova M. Bell and Raiden B. Freeman. As well as a large extended family.
To the outside world, Leo was friendly, approachable, and always ready with a joke or a helping hand. To those who knew him best, he could be blunt, stubborn, and sometimes hard to deal with. But beneath that rough exterior was a man with a soft heart, especially for the people he loved. If Leo cared about you, you felt it—even if he didn’t always show it in the usual way. He was unapologetically himself, and his love, though imperfect, was fierce and unforgettable.
The family with gather privately to remember Leo with love, and invite others to take a quiet moment in their own way to honor his life.
