Lisa Anne Ramsey

Lisa Anne Ramsey, 67, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at The Ohio State University Hospice after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on March 1, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, Lisa was the daughter of the late Robert George Ramsey and Bonnie Eileen (Palmer) Ramsey. A lifelong Columbus resident, she graduated from Olentangy High School in 1977 and earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in 1984.

Lisa had lots of jobs but she was always searching for a more perfect job. She worked at Meijer gas station on Polaris Parkway, Home Depot on Cleveland Ave, The Hills Market and The Hearth & Eagle Tavern in Worthington, Nationwide Insurance, Tropical Nut & Fruit, Agri-General, and various other odd and temp jobs. The one thing Lisa had in common with all her jobs was that she arrived late virtually every day at all of them. As she was always bound and determined to get her fun time in towards the end of each day, she was not an early riser.

Lisa was was always up for socializing with her friends. She also enjoyed holiday and birthday celebrations with her family. She enjoyed experiencing a wide variety of foods and spices; she had collected thousands of recipes over the years. Her recent routines were trivia nights at Firehouse Tavern in Sunbury and bingo at Harry Buffalo in Westerville. She was forever game for new mini-adventures ... traveling, snow skiing, motorcycle riding.

Lisa was always searching for new ways to improve her health even though she was a lifetime smoker. She smoked a pack a day since she was 17. She had been trying to find the right magic trick to quit for the past 25 years but just couldn't kick it.

She is survived by her longtime partner Keith Cooper, her brother Bruce Ramsey; brother-in-law Noah Torch, nieces Ella and Vivian; sister-in-law Vicky Ramsey, niece Megan; sister-in-law Sherri Ramsey; Uncle Bill Ramsey; and cousins Rick, Nancy, Jeff, and Jody Palmer, cousins Billy Michael and Michelle Ramsey; and cousin Linda Palmer. 

Predeceased by both parents, brother Brian Jay Ramsey and sister Molly Sue (Torch) Ramsey; Aunts and Uncles Landon, Donna, Ila Jean, Linda Ramsey and Don Palmer.

Lisa will be deeply missed by all her friends and family that knew her well.

A Life Celebration will be held at some later time.

In lieu of flowers, you can honor Lisa by swigging down a cold glass of your favorite beer and remembering her with a smile.

Someday...

Looking back on me as a little girl

And the dreams I had back then

I still wonder how life happened to me

And I landed on the end (end of my hope, end of my rope)

Always claiming 'someday' things would change

That my life would rearrange

Never understanding how ...

'Someday' stayed far enough away to keep hopelessness at bay ---

But now I'm bold enough to say that SOMEDAY IS NOW!

'Cause I'm a woman of power

This is my hour

Not content to just survive

I've come too far not to thrive

I'm standing on the brink of my "free" ---

Take a good look at me!
