Lorrie Lynn Wilson (Core) passed away after a courageous battle with Covid-19 on May 4th at the age of 51.
Lorrie was born on December 21, 1969 to Larry Dodds and Linda Diann Tharp in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by both of her parents, Larry Dodds in 2018, Linda Diann Tharp in 2012, her brother Daniel Forbes in 2019, her husband John Wilson in 2013, and her niece Angelina Green in 2013. Survived by her daughter Melinda DeVoe, her sister Danielle Green, her father Michael Core, and her four nieces and nephews Kathleen Core, Benjamin Green, Serenity Green, Maxximus Green, and her grandson Alexander Jones.
She was a high school graduate in 1988 from Hilliard High School in Hilliard, Ohio. She married John Wilson in 1990 and remained married until his passing in 2013. She was also a devoted Christian and lived her life through her faith and love for her eternal Father.
Her mother married Michael Core in 1980, which blended the families together. Michael adopted Lorrie and raised her as his own flesh and blood.
She enjoyed many hobbies but was especially talented at drawing. She had many sketch books filled with her drawings. She loved her family with every fiber of her being. She loved doing whatever silly things to make you smile and laugh. She was the life of the party and would do anything for you. She will be remembered for her big heart, her generosity, her love for her family and friends, and her Indian Battle Cry!
She will be greatly missed and the hole of her absence will be filled with the wonderful memories that she has given us.
A celebration of her life will occur on May 8, 2021 from 11 am – 1 pm. Visitation with family will be from 11-12 followed by a memorial service. A cremation will be soon afterwards.
