Margaret E. Ellis

March 11, 1945 — March 28, 2026

Margaret Easter Ellis was born on March 11, 1945, in Alderson, West Virginia and passed away on March 28,2026 from kidney failure. Margaret was the beloved daughter of Acy and Lora Luella Ellis (Burns) and preceded in death Dodrall (Patsy) Ellis, Lee (Glenna) Ellis and Jessie Juniper. Living siblings are Lawrence (Carol) Ellis, Leslie (Lanell) Ellis, Bonnie Hartley and Mary Kathrine (Sam) Rhoades. Margaret had three children Donna (Mike) Albright, Don (Mindi) Keene and Joshua (Kristina) Keene. She has four beloved grandchildren Kevin Keene, Rachel (Chris) Ward, Hannah (Lee) Bullock and Mason Keene. In addition, a total of three great-grandchildren Allison and Abigail Ward and Noah Bullock. At the age of 18, Margaret made a life-changing decision to accept Christ into her heart—a faith that would guide her throughout her life. That same year, she married her husband, Don Keene of 45 years, and together they built a family, welcoming three children. As the years passed, Margaret’s greatest joy became her growing family. She was blessed with her first grandchild, Kevin, the son of her middle child, Don. Though distance often separated them, Margaret cherished every opportunity to spend time with him. Later, she welcomed two granddaughters, Rachel and Hannah, born to Donna and Mike. Even while living in Michigan during their younger years, the girls shared a close and loving bond with their grandmother. When it came time for her grandchildren to call her something special, Margaret insisted that “Grandma” sounded too old. She proudly chose the name “Nanny,” a name that reflected her youthful spirit and one that lovingly endured through generations. To this day, she is remembered as “Nanny” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2021, her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her first great-grandchild Allison and later to follow Abigail and Noah. These children became the center of her world, bringing her immense joy, purpose, and laughter in her later years. In 2024, Margaret’s health began to decline due to kidney failure, and she eventually moved in with family who lovingly cared for her. In her final chapter, she resided in a nursing home, where she spent her remaining days surrounded by care and comfort. Though her journey on earth has come to an end, her family finds peace in knowing that Margaret is now in heaven, embraced in eternal life with the Lord she faithfully followed. Margaret will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering faith, her vibrant spirit and her love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
