Marilyn Patterson

Mar 16, 1953 — Jul 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Castleberry Patterson, who passed away on July 25, 2026, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Marilyn was born on March 16, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Floyd and Tommie Castleberry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Patterson, and her parents, Floyd and Tommie Castleberry.

Marilyn was so much more than a mother; she was a best friend, a safe place, and the heart of our family. She loved with everything she had and gave so much of herself to the people she cared about. In her later years, she found peace in living a quiet, simple life. If she wasn't making breakfast and hamburgers at Wendy's, where she proudly served as a Breakfast Manager for many years, she was at home relaxing and spending time with her youngest daughter, Ashley, and her beloved granddaughter, Rylee Mae.

Marilyn also loved to cook and enjoyed making short videos for TikTok, sharing moments of joy and laughter with others. Her kindness, strength, laughter, forgiveness, and unconditional love touched countless lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her cherished granddaughter, Rylee Mae.

She is survived by her children: Lynn Russell (Eddie), Jennifer Hicks (Jason), Becky Patterson (John), and Ashley Patterson.

She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Joey (Tasha), Cory (Jimmy), Jesse, Brianna, Maddie (Makaylah), Jason, Tristin (Gage), Payton, Hayley, and Rylee.

She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Zoey, Ava, Joseph, Ariyana, Aubree, Jaylen, Anakin, Sicily, Lily, and Ridley.

Marilyn is also survived by her siblings: Jimmy Castleberry (Janie), Bobby Castleberry (Sue), Pat McClendon, and Pam Lingner, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Although she is no longer with us, Marilyn's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose lives she touched.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
