Mark David Blue

Mark David Blue, 66, of Galion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026.

Mark was born on March 11, 1960, to David and Velma (Swackhammer) Blue. He was a man who loved the Lord Jesus and lived his faith in a genuine and personal way. He was faithful in spending time in God’s Word and often talked with God while driving. His faith was not simply something he talked about—it was an important part of who he was and how he lived.

Mark was a gentle, kind, and loving man who cared deeply about other people. He had a servant’s heart and often put the needs of others before his own. He was especially proud of his children, Kevin and Brittany, and cherished his family, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Mark loved sports and enjoyed being part of a team. He played sports in high school and continued playing on church teams throughout his life. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), and especially the Cleveland Browns. His love of sports was just one of the many things that brought him joy and gave him opportunities to share time with others.

Mark worked for US Cargo and was a member of Grace Point Church in Galion, Ohio. His quiet strength, kindness, humor, and genuine love for people will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, David and Velma (Swackhammer) Blue.

He is survived by his children, Kevin Blue and Brittany Blue; his stepmother, Charlene Blue; his sister, Jill (David) Brown; his brother, Shawn E. Blue; his nephew, Jonathan (Amy) Brown; his niece, Autumn (Marc) VanArsdalen; his great-nephews and great-nieces; and many cherished friends who were blessed to know him.

Mark loved the Lord, loved his family, and loved people. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and a life lived with a genuine concern for others. His family takes comfort in knowing that Mark is now with the Savior he loved and trusted.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
