Mark Luther Loel, 62 of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord at Riverside Hospital on September 20, 2024.
Born on December 18, 1961, to Harry Loel Jr. and Maxine (Wren) Loel in Columbus, Ohio and a 1980 graduate of Grove City High School. Mark was a dedicated, hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. He previously worked as a roofer for Roofers Local Union #86 and recently was employed by General Maintenance, Columbus, Ohio.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend Lisa (Smith) Loel. Mark and Lisa’s journey together began in November 2011, and they were married on December 13, 2014. Their relationship was a testament to their love for each other and companionship, making many cherished memories and together they celebrated life’s joys and faced life’s challenges. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Tiffany Rodgers (Trenton Hitch) and Stephanie Rodgers; grandchildren, Gaige and Caitlyn Loel, Landon Hamm, and Aubrey and Frankie Hitch; sisters, Bobbie Jean Walton, Patty (Frank) Peterson-Buck; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Pat Ayers (Puddin), Paul Shaffner (Spanky), Gene Hamler (Geno) and numerous other special family members and friends all of whom he loved very much. Mark was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Loel; brothers, Jerry (Porky) and Jim.
A memorial service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held at Landmark Christain Church on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m., with a reception in the fellowship hall immediately after the service.
