Martha R. Bauer

Martha R. “Becky” Bauer, 10-year resident of Columbus, OH, formerly of Mitchell, SD, died, November 9, 2020. She was 70.

A private family service in celebration of Becky’s life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel. A livestream of the service will be available at 12 pm EST on November 20th under Becky’s obituary page.

Becky was born January 9, 1950 to Raymond and Helen (Bargar) Bauer in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. The Bauer family later relocated to Mitchell, South Dakota where Becky attended and graduated from Notre Dame High School and then Mitchell Technical School. She called South Dakota home for 50 years. She worked as a school counselor at the Plankington Training School and finished her career after a move to Columbus, OH as a patient advocate for the Trivity Health System.

Becky was a devoted catholic who was a member of St. Pius Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsburg, OH.

Becky was the heart of her family, steadfast in her faith, the memory keeper and the one who brought her grandmothers recipes back to life. She was a kind, sweet gentle spirit, who should be remembered with smiles and laughter.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Helen. She is survived by her brother Dr. Stephen Bauer, his wife Lynn and daughter Stephanie of Columbus, OH. Two sisters; Mary Jo Weir of Blacklick, OH and Eunyce Prouty, her husband Steve of Mooresville, NC and her sons, Gregory Collins of Carlsbad, CA, and Jeffrey Collins of Dunwoody, GA.
