Mary Margaret Feicht

Aug 22, 1942 — Oct 14, 2026

Columbus, Ohio

Mary Margaret (“Peggy”) Feicht, born August 22, 1942, passed away on October 14, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Feicht, and her sister, Kathleen Feicht. Peggy is survived by her sister Pamela (Ira) Scheer, nieces Laura (Jon) Dimitrijevic and Jessica Scheer (Jason Beauregard), and great nephews, Oliver and Everett Dimitrijevic.

Born in Punxsutawney, PA to Frank and Marie Feicht, Peggy spent her first fifteen years in nearby Reynoldsville, PA. When the opportunity for a better life beckoned, her parents moved the family to Ottawa, OH, so that they could afford to provide their children with a college education.

Peggy graduated from Ottawa Public High School in 1960 then received a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University. She began her career in the laboratory at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, OH before moving to Carmel, CA in 1970, where she would live for 40 years, working as a laboratory scientist at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and retiring in 2010. Shortly after retirement, she moved back to Northwest Ohio to live in Toledo to be closer to family. Since she had loved her work returned to the laboratory as long as her health permitted.

Following her retirement, she found great joy in traveling with family, having visited Europe and the Caribbean multiple times. Peggy had a love for Persian cats, eclectic fabrics, and iridescent décor. Sober for 35 years, she found meaning in connecting with those on a path to sobriety.

There will be a gathering in Peggy’s memory on Tuesday, November 24 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Westerwood, 5800 Forest Hills Blvd, Columbus, OH. Burial will be on Friday, November 27 at noon at Harman Cemetery in Gilboa, OH, next to her parents and sister.

To honor Peggy’s love of cats, in lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to contribute to their local Humane Society.
