Maurice Lamont Hagans, affectionately known as “Mo” or “Mo Dog”, 59 of Columbus Ohio, departed life suddenly on September 2, 2025. Born on February 27, 1966 in Dayton Ohio to Shirley and James Earl Hagans. Maurice graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1985. Maurice spent many years as a professional cook. He enjoyed fishing, watching his Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time with family and friends and tracing his family history. Maurice was a devoted son and caregiver. He was proceeded in death by his loving mother Shirley Hagans and father James Earl Hagans. His maternal grandparents Jack and Ella Mae Williamson; and paternal grandparents James and Sally Niece.
Maurice leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his siblings Jimmy Hagans, Fred Hagans, Jason Hagans, Treva Hagans-Bajjou, Makia “MiMi (Stephen Jackson) Hagans. Nephews Gerald Watkins, James Hall and Cason Jackson. Aunts Rebecca Williamson, Yvonne Williamson, and Janice Blue. Uncles Albert Cosby, Napoleon (Deloris) Hagans, Robert (Cassandra) Niece, Mark Niece, Douglas (Melissa) Niece. Special friend and brother Steve Arnold. Special Cousins and sisters Tiffany “Tiff” Johnson and Sally “Lynnie” Hagans, a host of cousins and countless friends who were embraced by Mo as family.
