Merri Hall

Merri Hall, 68, of Marysville, Ohio, passed away on July 23, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 29, 1956, she was the beloved daughter of Glenn and Sally Pugh. Merri attended Whetstone High School, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Jon Hall. After attending The Ohio State University, she and Jon moved to Texas to start their lives together, later returning to Ohio to raise their four children.

While her first love was family, Merri was a wonderful friend to many; her quiet strength and steadfast loyalty were a welcome comfort to many women in her life and her physical presence will be greatly missed. Merri was a creative soul and was always trying her hand at new things; she was a talented quilter, beader, and all-around crafter, and enjoyed sharing her gift with others.

Merri was always up for an adventure; she planned many family trips and truly enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm and sense of direction with anyone willing to hit the road. She and her mom, Sally, went on countless adventures throughout the years, creating wonderful memories with their shared love of nature - particularly birdwatching. Whether it was a local park, a ball game, or her own garden, Merri loved being outdoors and shared that with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving mother, Sally (Rees) Pugh; her children, Jessie (Brian) Beickelman, Jennifer (Luke) Merritt, Ross (Jessica Kennedy) Hall, and Ashley (Adam) Rector; her cherished grandchildren, Eva, Lila, and Charlotte Merritt, Lillian and Julian Kennedy; her siblings, Michael (Mary) Pugh, Mark (Nancy) Pugh, Matthew Pugh, Marshal (Natalie) Pugh, and Melody (Mitch) Ginter; and siblings-in-law, Rebecca (Tony) Penzone, James Garrett, and Bill (Phuc) Schrensky; along with numerous other family members and friends whom Merri held dear.

Merri was preceded in death by her husband, Jon; father, Glenn Pugh; stepmother, Phyllis (Glenn) Pugh; and sister-in-law, Jovony (Hall) Schrensky.

A service to celebrate Merri’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Mozart’s 4784 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214; with arrival beginning at 4:30, the service will begin at 5:00pm and light refreshments will be served afterward.

Floral arrangements may be delivered to Mozart’s (address above) on the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, Merri’s family suggests making a donation to the Ohio State Parks Foundation to honor her love of nature.
