Michael A. Eggleton, 74, of Ashville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 18, to George Jr. and Bett Eggleton, Mike lived a life defined by devotion, service, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved.
For 55 years, Mike shared a remarkable marriage with his wife, Patty—a partnership rooted in loyalty, laughter, and deep affection. Together they built a family that was the center of his world. He was the proud father of Tony (Megan) Eggleton and an adoring grandfather to his granddaughter Dylan and grandsons Conor and Bryson, who brought him endless joy.
Mike served his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy, carrying the values of duty and integrity with him throughout his life. After his military service, he dedicated his career to helping others as a dialysis technician, offering care and compassion to countless patients until his retirement in 2016.
Faith was a cornerstone of Mike’s life for the last 30 years. He was a devoted member of Buckeye Christian Church for 23 years and, more recently, a member of Northridge Church of Christ for the past six years. Mike served alongside Patty as a preschool teacher, hosted Bible studies in their home, and volunteered for countless church activities. His quiet leadership, steady kindness, and willingness to serve made him a blessing to everyone who worshipped and worked beside him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Jr. and Betty Eggleton; grandmother Nora Daugherty, aunt Sandy Caldwell, his mother- and father-in-law, Mary Ellen and Pat McCoy; and his brother-in-law, Mike McCoy Sr. He is survived by Teri McCoy; Tim and Janine McCoy; Stan and Christy Kirtlan; and John and Deb Tripp, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who lovingly knew him as the family“ funcle”—the fun uncle who brought humor, warmth, and a spark of mischief to every gathering.
Mike will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous heart, and the way he made others feel valued simply by showing up. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends he supported, the congregations he served, and the countless lives he touched through his service and his kindness.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2 pm at Northridge Church of Christ in Circleville, where family and friends will gather to honor a man who gave so much and loved so deeply.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Heartland Hospice or Northridge Church of Christ in Mike's name.
