Michael F. Parrett

April 29, 1950 — May 11, 2025

Michael Fitzpatrick Parrett born April 29, 1950 in Tarentum, PA, died at home May 11, 2025 after a long illness. Mike was a proud Mifflin High School graduate, class of 1968. He was preceded in death by parents William A. Parrett IV and Betty David Parrett, brother William A. Parrett V and sister Vicki Yost. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Pamela Thompson, his three sons, Corey, John and Jake of whom he was most proud. Also, a sister Judy Wells and sister-in-law Maureen Thompson, and many nieces and nephews as well as his dog Allie.

Mike retired from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of faithful service. Mike enjoyed sports, playing softball and soccer as a younger man. He coached all his sons in baseball where he also umpired. Mike followed Major league baseball and had much baseball knowledge. Mike had many passions: he loved music and he passed on his appreciation and his extensive knowledge of music history, especially the Beatles, to his children. He was very proud of his trip to Woodstock, August 1969. Civil War books and stories were another interest of his, not least of which was his own ancestor Jacob Parrett who was the first Medal of Honor recipient.

Mike's dry sense of humor will be missed as well as his Jeopardy answers to all the old movie and directors categories. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Mike's name to the Licking County Humane Society. A celebration of life will take place Thursday May22, 5:30-7:30pm at Pataskala Public Library.
