Myrtle Dalton

Myrtle R. Dalton (76) of Columbus, Ohio went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born in Philippi, West Virginia on December 22, 1947 to the late James and Myrtle Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings James Dalton, Andrew Dalton, Jean Wells, Hilda Cheney, Buster Dalton, and Holly Dalton.

Myrtle retired from Grange Insurance and maintained a wonderful friendship with her “Grange Ladies”. She was a dedicated mom, grandma and Gran (great grandma). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Myrtle was a long-time member of the African Violet Society of America and collector of many things. She was independent, full of life and always on the go. She loved reading and spending time with her two nieces Pam Ogles and Patti Sisk searching for collectibles all over the country side. Her entire family will forever hold dear the memories of her confetti eggs at Easter that turned adults into children.

She is survived by her son Lee L. Croston (Marci), two grandsons Mike Croston (Brittney) and Mat Croston, three great grandchildren Rylee Croston, Hunter Croston and Emersyn Croston. She leaves two sisters Dolly Garland and Brenda “Jo” Morgan and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Myrtle’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations in Myrtle’s name may be made to the African Violet Society of America at P.O. Box 22417, Beaumont, Texas 77720-2417.

The family will be served by the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 34 West 2^nd Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
