Nancy Lenore Herring

Nancy Lenore Hill (Herring), 97, of Westerville, OH, originally from Memphis, TN passed away February 14. She was married to Donald Herring from Columbus, Ohio for 55 years until his passing in 2000. She is survived by her children: Donna Green and her husband Milford, Debbie Herring and her husband Wayne Werbelow, David Herring and his wife Annette Brossette, Dennis Herring and his wife Carol Corkern and by her grandchildren Dexter Green, Tracie Green, Travis Werbelow and his wife Nicole Cornell, Kadi Fedde and her husband Cameron, Annaliese Herring and her partner Francisco Sanson, Hannah Herring, Emmaline Herring, Elizabeth Duraney and her husband Kevin, and Ethan Herring and great grandchildren Luciano Sanson, Maxwell Sanson and Graham Werbelow. Nancy is predeceased by her siblings Warren Hill, Elizabeth Holifield, Ruth Hill, Joe Hill, and Jimmy Hill.

She has been a member of multiple United Methodist Churches. She enjoyed singing in church and community choirs. She retired from the federal government where she worked for the Farmers Home Administration and the Department of Forestry.

Nancy was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings and visiting her children and grandchildren. She was most proud of her children and loved babies and dogs. Nancy shared her passion for baking and gardening with her children.

The memorial service will be on Wednesday, February 22 at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home: 4341 North High St., Columbus, OH. Visitation hours for family and friends will start at 6:00 pm with the service following at 7:00 pm.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Don Herring.
