Nancy Ruth King

Nancy Ruth King (Haines) passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the age of 71 in Columbus, Ohio She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracy Ann, her mother, Helen C. Haines, her father, Robert E. Haines, and her brother Robert E Haines, Jr.

Born May 14, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio, Nancy spent most of her life in Columbus, graduating from Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio and attending Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She was a pioneer woman at heart always wanting to do things the old fashion way, from quilting by hand to growing her own rhubarb for her well-loved Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp. Her connection and love for animals was evident. Her favorite time of year was Autumn when she would travel with her friends to the Wool Gathering near Yellow Springs. We will miss her.

Nancy is survived by her son Christopher Lee King and her siblings Barbara J. Helget (Thomas), Patti S. Jasin, and Bonnie L Rayo (Stephen): Nieces and nephews Michael Jasin, Nicole Gervais (Eric), Stephen Rayo (Molly) and A. Scott Rayo, as well as many grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held, Thursday, June 12th at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214. Calling hours are 4:00 to 5:00 with the service commencing at 5:00. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in Nancy’s name.
