Patricia Anne Ott, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and wife passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 20, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on April 30, 1944, in Long Island, New York to Margarita Bothwell Gonzalez and Thomas Flanagan. She was very proud of her Puerto Rican and Irish heritage and enjoyed traveling to both places.
Patricia is survived by her husband Jim of 54 years, her sister Linda (Dan) Schwebel of Westfield, New Jersey, her daughters Lori (Matt) Federer and Debbie (Matt) Boissy, both of Granville, Ohio and her son Jim (Sarah) Ott of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Michael, JJ, Caitlin, Nathan, Emma, Abby, Connor, Charlie, and Olivia as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Tommy and Charlie Flanagan and her beloved daughter Sharon Ott.
A lifelong educator, she taught high school math for many years starting in Atlanta, Georgia. She then moved to Northeast Ohio where she taught at St. Peter Chanel Catholic School and at Cleveland Heights High School. Upon retiring, she moved to Pataskala, Ohio to be closer to her grandkids.
Patricia was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her willingness to attend just about every sporting contest, performance, and event that her grandchildren participated in. She will be remembered for her capacity to listen with empathy and then provide thoughtful advice. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Per her wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
