Patrick Kevin Stone

Patrick Kevin Stone was born on April 30, 1964, in Fairbanks, Alaska, just a month after the area was struck by the most powerful earthquake in US history. It is no coincidence that he too was a force of nature.

Pat was a middle child and consequently was often the peacemaker amongst his siblings – he was a compassionate soul from an early age.

A resourceful and creative man, Pat once wrote an essay as a teenager to win a job as Columbus Clippers batboy for a season, where he went to work daily with future MLB stars. Pat graduated from Bexley High School in 1982.

He was classically trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America, (graduating in 1989) and in France and had a wide and varied career delighting people with his cooking skills. His devotion to his wife and children led him to seek positions that were more conducive to raising a family.

At one point doctors told him to cease work in kitchens to protect his health, so he built an outdoor oven from scratch, recycling old building materials. He was a master chef, baker and brewer.

A lifelong music aficionado, Pat reveled in a wide variety of styles. He taught himself to play the guitar and was a gracious host for impromptu jam sessions with family and friends.

His loved ones continually gravitated to Pat for advice, understanding, and support. He was the consummate listener to anyone in need of an ear, and his empathy consoled countless others.

Pat is survived by his wife Suzanne, son Cody and daughter Katherina Bidlack (Josh), granddaughter Carina, his mother Mary Ann Stone, brothers Michael (Heidi) and Jim (Christine) and sister Jennifer McCauley (Chad), and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father James Stone Sr.
