Paul D Shannon

Paul David Shannon (P.D.) passed away November 22, 2024. He was born December 10, 1944 to parents Virginia Faye and William Henry Shannon in Obetz, Ohio. 

P.D. dedicated his career to the construction industry and took pride in providing for his family through his hard work. Later in life he became an OHSAA basketball official and an umpire for Central Ohio Slo-Pitch Softball. He spent many years at Berliner park as a player, teammate, fan, and umpire. He was honored at the Columbus Slo-Pitch Hall of Fame ceremony in 2005 for his work and passion in a sport he truly loved. 

P.D. is survived by his first wife Linda Newsom and their children: Bob (Julie) Shannon; and Kelly (Eric) Cable. Grandchildren: Bailey (Ryan) Sims; Cassidy (Shane) Parker and Austin Cable. Great granddaughters Maple and Ruby. Brother, James Shannon and his children: James, Kathy, and Christine. He is preceded in death by his parents and his step-granddaughter Kaitlyn Hatem.
