Paul Shea

June 14, 1944 — April 9, 2021

Paul Irwin Shea, 76, passed from this life in the loving arms of Jesus on April 9, 2021, in Columbus, Ohio.  Karen, his beloved wife of 38 years, was at his side at home as he ended his earthly journey.

Paul was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, on June 14, 1944.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.  Upon his honorable discharge from the army, he returned to his home in Columbus and working.  He loved to cook and became a cook and a chef at many area restaurants.  Paul’s love of cooking and good food will be missed by many family and friends.  Paul eventually followed another passion for driving and became a truck driver, crossing the country for a number of trucking companies taking him on short and long runs to different parts of the US.  When he wasn’t in the kitchen or on the road, Paul loved attending auctions and the camaraderie of those who attended looking for a good deal.  Most importantly, Paul was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and studied His Word.  He and Karen appreciated the love and support of the pastor and the wonderful people at Hayden Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife Karen Shea, daughter Annette (Annie) Curtin (Tom); brother Bill Shea (Kay); and many very special grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by son Danny Shea, and sisters Kathy McDonald and Teri Lyons.

Paul touched the lives of so many with his ready smile and great sense of humor.  He will be sadly missed, but we thank God for lending him to us for 76 wonderful years.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday April 17th at 12 noon at Hayden Baptist Church, 6729 Hayden Run Rd., Columbus.  Masks will be required.
