Petra finally succumbed to breast cancer on Saturday, January 24. She fought her own battle courageously for over 5 years. Rarely complained about the pain and suffering she endured and never gave up hope. Her pursuit of medical knowledge to defeat the cancer was inspiring to many women, never accepting traditional cancer treatments as the only way. She was also a trailblazer in many ways. Created her own realtor website and was a darn good realtor, caring so much about the best interests of her clients. Designed our home and the beautiful landscaping completely by herself. Was an amazing cook who loved to host events. Homeschooled her son for 8 years, so she was quite the multi-tasker. Studied and earned a natural doctor certification because her dream and passion were to take all of the knowledge she gained over the years researching cancer and use it to help others. Most importantly, she trusted in Christ as her savior when she was a child, so she certainly was at peace when she passed away. This comforts her family greatly because she will have a new, perfect body in heaven, and we'll see her again. We'll miss you so much.

In addition to her husband Kurt, Petra is survived by her son, Isaac; her mother, Monika Baer; her sisters, Angela Shultz Lyshe (Ed Lyshe) and Krista Baer; and her brother, Jason Baer. She is predeceased by her brother Andre Shultz (Juliet Roth). Petra is loved by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. 

A private celebration of her life will be held by the family at a later time.
