Quan Lee Sparks

Quan Lee Starks, 75 of Columbus, peacefully went home to be with the lord on June 18, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Quan was born on September 13, 1949, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. 

She lived a life defined by grace, resilience, and unconditional love. She was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering devotion, whose greatest joy in life was her family—especially her only child, Bruce D. Starks Jr. and her treasured grandchildren. From the moment she became a mother, Quan poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding her child with boundless love. 

 As a grandmother, she was nothing short of extraordinary. Her laughter filled the room, her wisdom offered gentle guidance, and her love was a light that will never dim. A caregiver by nature, she would help anyone who came into her life. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary E. Capito; father, Carl Smith “Buddy”; Sister, Donna Houston; Aunts; Roberta Seward (John Crosley), Manerva “Teenie” Seward, Erma Lucas, Patricia Hert and Uncle, James Seward; Grandchild, Bruce D. Starks |||. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved child, Bruce D. Starks Jr. (Sherita Starks) and her adored grandchildren, Ash’Unique M. Starks, Ty’Rese K. Starks, Saeviyanna Porter Starks, Zaevaughn Porter Starks, Tamiah Woodard Starks, Olivia Starks; Brother, Dwight E. Turner; Aunt, Barbara Seward; many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Ronald C. Barr. Her beloved pets that she adored Pablo and Gracie and grand pup Chanel. 

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the lives of those she loved so deeply. Her memory will continue to be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration for all who knew her. 

A memorial service in honor of Quan will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2845 Austin Manor Blvd, Columbus OH 43219 from 5p-9p. Friends and Family are welcome to join us while we celebrate her beautiful life. 

May her soul rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the same love she so freely gave in life.
