Richard Lee Kienle

April 24, 1951 — October 12, 2023

Richard Lee Kienle, born April 24, 1951, passed away at The Laurels of Walden Park with family members by his side.

Rick, better known as RTP, (Rick the Painter), was a very kind and gentle soul.  Rick took great pride in his work.  And once said, “One day he will be painting in Heaven!”

He loved the Lord with all of his heart.  You would often find Richard reading his Bible.  The Bible was his constant companion, and offered him great comfort throughout his life. One of his favorite Bible verses was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

He was a very proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Rick was the proud father of Leah Marie Kienle.  She was his “precious angel”!

Rick’s sister, Debbie Johnson, and brother, Lawrence Kienle, loved him more than words can describe; as did all of his extended family and friends.  Larry and I could not have asked for a more amazing brother!

Special thanks to Vickie Fitzpatrick & Shelly Purdy for their frequent visits to spend time with Rick, and pray with him during his stay at The Laurels.  He looked forward to all of those visits where they showered him with love, home cooked meals, and snacks.

We would also like to recognize two very important friends that cared for Rick throughout his lifetime; Terry Kelly and Mike Spiert! These two gentlemen were life-savers for him.

Watching Richard suffer with COPD over the past few years has been very difficult.  We are very sad he is no longer with us, but grateful he no longer suffers for that next breath.  He loved all of you who assisted him in his dying days, and throughout his lifetime.

A special thank you to The Laurels of Walden Park who cared for Richard over the past 2 ½ years.

Special thank you to DeCarlos & Laura Chapman for having holidays in their home.

Thanks to Ohio Health Hospice, and Pastor Mark Diemer. We appreciated their visits, compassion, and support.

Richard is survived by his Brother, Lawrence Kienle; Sister, Deborah Johnson (Kienle); Daughter, Leah Kienle; Nephews, Nicholas Johnson, Adam Kienle, Samuel Kienle; Niece, Laura Chapman (Kienle); Great Nieces, Kelsey Kienle, Lillian Chapman, Amelia Veddern, Elaina Johnson, Molly Malone, Rosemary Kienle; Great Nephews, Joseph Chapman, Silas Johnson, and Noah Kienle.

Other special family members, Kim Graham, Bill Stischok, Vickie & Bill Fitzpatrick and family, Shelly & James Purdy, Georgann & Steve Daily and family, Mary & Steve Strawser and family. Also Donna Branham.
