GAST

Ronald Robert Gast, 54, long time Columbus resident departed this life and began a new journey on November 2, 2015.  He worked in the voice / data communications field for 35 years of which the last 12 years were at Team Fishel as an Applications Engineer.  Ron was the Michael Angelo of carpentry.  His gifts of artistry, creativity, design and love are reflected in every nook and cranny of his home and yard.  His love for his family is embraced in every detail.  His paradise was his workshop.  This is where he would watch his beloved Cleveland Browns, and Indians, have a beer and create a masterpiece.  This workshop is where family and friends would spend a great deal of time with him.  He had a love and appreciation for all of God’s creatures he was friends with all of his dogs, cats, fish, birds and would always take in a stray.  Ron actively volunteered with Blendon Westerville Little Leage and Boy Scouts of America.  Ron is survived by his wife of 26 years Karen (KoKo), adoring children Bonnie West, Hollyanne Gast, Ronnie Gast (Reanna); grandchildren Noah, Gabriella and Remmy. Ron is also survived by his parents Daryel and Shirely Gast; Siblings Jay Gast ( Janet) and Terri Dreps (Bob); Sister in-law Suzie Maslar; and nieces and nephews.  Memorial service will be held Sunday November 15, 2015 at Genoa Baptist Church 7562 Lewis Center Rd. Westerville, OH 43082 at 2 P.M.  Family request that donations be made in the honor of Ronald Gast to Nationwide Childrens Hospital and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
