Ronney Joe Writesel

May 15, 1950 — May 21, 2025

Ronney Joe Writesel, affectionately known as Joe to his close family and friends, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Hilliard, Ohio, at the age of 75.

Born on May 15, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, Joe was a lifelong resident of the state he loved. He was a man of deep faith and quiet strength—soft spoken and caring, with a steadfast presence that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Joe dedicated many years of his life to working at Hite Parts Exchange. However, his mechanical aptitude extended far beyond the workplace; he was licensed in computer repair and had a passion for solar power. Joe lived off the grid during the spring, summer, and fall seasons—a testament to his ingenuity and love for nature.

A gifted craftsman, Joe found joy in woodworking and building model trains. One of his proudest accomplishments was constructing a cabin on mountain land alongside his brother and family—a labor of love that reflected both his talent and dedication.

Joe’s spiritual life was central to who he was. He served as a minister at the House of Prayer on Minnesota Avenue for several years and also led a congregation in Galloway, Ohio. In recent years, he was a devoted member of Yahweh's House of Prayer in Columbus. His faith guided every aspect of his life and offered comfort to many.

Joe was a gracious, charitable, and faithful man. When he wasn’t working hard, he was seeking the Lord. He didn’t ask for much but would give anything for those he loved. He was always there when you needed him—a man many relied on.

He was a creator, a provider and an admirable father.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Kathy; daughters Gloria (Pat) Garey, Tina (Steve) Miller, Kathy (Paul) Cunningham; Caprice Colucci; Monet Colucci; brothers Gerald “Butch” (Cathy) Writesel and Lloyd Lee (Cindy) Writesel; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Clara Writesel; parents Gerald L. and Kathryn L. Writesel; and sisters Peg (Dale) Ware, Patty (Herb) Schaffer, Rosemarie (Basil) Calabrise, and Diane (Bill) Cooper.

No service is being held, in leu of flowers, contributions are being accepted to help cover the funeral cost.
