Born, September 8, 1960, Sally is survived by a son she loved dearly, Griffin G Spencer, 31 of Clintonville OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reginald Spencer. She is survived by her mother, Kathy Rousseau of Huntington WV, Suzanne Dawson of Huntington WV, Scott Spencer (and wife Sarah) of Lexington KY, Sandra Pence of Dunedin FL, Sharon Spencer of Houston TX, Stefa Petersen of Cape Coral FL, and Stacey Spencer of Barboursville WV. Sally had 3 nephews - Andy Petersen of Woodbury MN, John Spencer of Houston TX, Parker Spencer of Barboursville WV, a niece, Sophie Dudash (Mark) and a second cousin, Mark Joseph Dudash III, of Danville PA.
Sally loved Jesus and walked with him daily, faithful to Bible study and devotions. She excelled at cooking, gift-giving, and house decorating; she loved house plants, flowers, and listening to music. Sally identified with the story in which a shepherd drops care for a flock of sheep to search out one lost lamb. She has for many, many years taped pictures of the Shepherd with the found lamb on her linen closet door, at the front door, and at the top of her basement stairs.
She was naturally sweet, good, gentle, loving and a caretaker, thinking of others and constantly surprising with correspondence, flowers, or gifts. Early in life, Sally loved having a horse and an English sheepdog, and for a time, enjoyed cruising the town in her sporty Fiat Spyder.
Sally earned an associate's degree in office administration, and a bachelor's degree in nutrition. Although on disability, she worked part-time doing transcription for a local psychologist, and in the office of an adoption attorney almost to the day she was admitted to critical care/hospice.
She volunteered for Children’s Ministry duties at Vineyard Church in Sunbury OH for many years. Recently she cut short a visit to a resort spa so as not to miss teaching Sunday School.
Sally's family is so very proud of her. A lost lamb on The Shepherd's shoulders was transformed into one of His shepherds. A memorial service will be held on August 20, 2021, at the Sunbury Vineyard Church starting at 7pm, 1001 W. Cherry St. (Rt 36/37) Sunbury, OH 43074.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Pregnancy Resources of Delaware County, https://www.pregnancyresourcesdelco.org/ . This was a charity that she gave to over the years.
