Sharon Lynne Girardot

October 26, 1940 — November 27, 2022

Columbus

Sharon Lynne Girardot (Peters), 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Sharon was born on October 26th, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Beryl (Conley) Peters. Also preceded in death by her husband Cletus J. Girardot and granddaughter Makayla Tess.

Sharon was blessed to have a relationship with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, at a young age. This journey began as she attended the Grabill Missionary Church in Grabill, Indiana; a faith that continued to be nourished over her lifetime. She enjoyed so much of God’s creation living in Indiana, Southern California, Washington, and Ohio. As a kid she loved fishing with her dad and retreating to the family cottage on Crooked Lake. As a sister, wife, mother, and grandmother she enjoyed special times with family: camping, relaxing at the beach, sailing out of Dana Point Harbor, feeding the ducks with her grandkids, gathering up at Big Bear Mountain, and exploring National Parks in Washington. In her last years she enjoyed traveling with her daughters to Florida to visit with her sister, niece, and nephew. Finally, it was not uncommon to find Sharon on her porch in Clintonville enjoying the company of neighbors and church friends or engaging in one of her favorite pastimes since childhood: bird calling!

She had a big soft heart and brought kindness and laughter into peoples’ lives. Many will not forget her off-beat sense of humor, strong sense of determination and will, OR her amazing cooking: An art she inherited from her mom and aunties! Her beautiful and strong spirit made her a gem to her family and to those who came to know her, including those who were involved in her medical care, as she managed multiple health issues over the years. While longsuffering, God’s love and peace informed her life of prayer and acts of kindness, which were directed toward the sick, the poor, the impoverished and rejected.

Faithfully continue these acts of love and mercy from heaven, sweet mom! And enjoy the reunion with your sweet Cletus—husband of 51 years!

She will be deeply missed by her loving children: Shelly (Mike) Erskine, Joe (Heidi) Girardot, Gina Girardot, Kendra Girardot, and Lesley Girardot; grandchildren: Heather, Michael, Krissy, Jordan, Brooke, Julia, Kelley, Kandyse, and Tyler; greatgrandchildren: Maddison, Tanner, Ryahn, Zoey, Liam, Daemon, and Stacia; sister Suzanne Cretney; and step-father John (Jenny) Van Dalen.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, December 15th, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. Broadway, Columbus, OH 43214.
