Steven B. Wilson, 80, a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
Born in Troy, Ohio to the late Lucille G. Elleman and Charles L. Wilson, Steven was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father, and two brothers. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, son, three granddaughters, a grandson, a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Steven began his military training in 1960 in San Diego, CA. He trained with the U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Battalion, Platoon 2001. He continued on the Transplacement Tour in the Far East as part of the "Golf" Company in the 2/9.
During active duty, Steven was a machine gunner and proof technician for small firearms, spent time at sea on the USS Pickaway Apa - 222, and fought in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Ohio Army National Guard, he spent many years as a Recruiter and Supply Sergeant First Class. He received several medals, ribbons, and awards for his service.
His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, putting puzzles together, and building themed layouts from his massive Lego collection. He also loved playing cards and board games with his family.
