Suzanne Margaret Jacobs (née Rybak) passed away on June 14, 2026, following an incredibly valiant four-year battle with cancer. Born on April 7, 1950, to the late James Rybak and Margaret Rybak (née Murry), Suzanne faced every challenge in her life with the same grace and determination that defined her final journey, never wavering in her devotion to those she loved.
A graduate of Upper Arlington High School, Suzanne went on to earn her degree in Family and Child Development from The Ohio State University. She began her professional life as a social services case worker, a role that reflected her innate compassion. Suzanne later transitioned into a career in sales, where she spent nearly 30 years as a highly successful real estate agent, serving clients first in California and later in Ohio.
A quietly driven woman, Suzanne was known for meeting every obstacle head-on. She was the person who "got things done," moving through life with a steady resolve and a reliable nature. Her friends knew her as a safe harbor—a woman who kept confidences and whose word was her bond.
Suzanne’s true superpowers were her grace, compassion, and the selfless kindness she extended to everyone she met. She was the heart of her social circle, acting as a center of inspiration and a natural bridge between people. To be her friend was a rare privilege and a gift; she possessed a unique ability to bring others together, creating a community drawn to her strength and genuine spirit. The world is truly a lesser place without her.
Her greatest pride, however, was her family. Suzanne is survived by her devoted husband, Martin Jacobs and her two sons, Elliott and Benjamin Jacobs, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Wingerd (Max) and Patty Rybak, her brother, James Rybak Jr. (Pam) and her "sister in life," Valli Warren.
Suzanne’s legacy of resilience and quiet leadership will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She proved that even in the face of life’s greatest trials, one can lead with kindness, loyalty, and an unbreakable will.
In accordance with her wishes, Suzanne chose to be quietly cremated. Details regarding a Celebration of Life will follow in the near future.
Your presence and support are what matter most to the family. If you would like to honor Suzanne, memorial contributions may be made to The Suzanne M. Jacobs Memorial Fund established at The Ohio State University: [Donation Link will be available on Tuesday 6/16/26]. The Fund will sponsor the type of work Suzanne participated in professionally as a case worker early in her career, and later as a volunteer throughout her life.
