Tammy Merriner Baker

Mar 31, 1968 — Oct 2, 2026

Galloway, Ohio

Tammy Merriner Baker passed away after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Born in Fort Dix, New Jersey, Tammy grew up in Crestview, Florida, where she graduated from Crestview High School. She later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she made her home, built a life surrounded by those she loved, and continued creating special memories with family and friends.

Tammy was a warm, kind, generous, and endlessly caring person. She had a way of taking care of everyone around her, often putting the needs of others before her own. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all those who knew her.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Carole J. Copenhaver (Lowery); and her grandparents, Robert Copenhaver, Cora Copenhaver (Dean), Louis E. Lowery, and Lois J. Lowery (Park).

She is survived by her loving husband, Sean Baker; her father, Rodney T. Copenhaver, and bonus mother, Marilyn Copenhaver (Miller); her daughters, Valerie Smith (Will Smith), Terrie Helton (Merriner), and Courtney Blum (Curtis Blum); her sister, Tracey Cureton (Copenhaver); her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ashley, Haylee, Jayce, Teah, Remington, and Lillianah; her aunt, Lisa Lowery; and her niece, Kelsey Miller, along with many other family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives she touched.

For the past 18 years, Tammy worked for Teleperformance, contributing to many different projects throughout her career. Her dedication and caring nature extended beyond her family and into the friendships and relationships she built along the way. Tammy found so much joy in the simple things in life. She loved creating beautiful Diamond Art projects, spending time with her family, loyally cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, traveling, and, of course, spoiling her beloved dog, Scruff. Tammy’s greatest legacy will not be found in a title, an accomplishment, or a possession. It will be found in the countless people whose lives were made better simply because they knew her. She loved deeply. She gave selflessly. She cared wholeheartedly. And she never left the people she loved wondering whether they mattered.

Tammy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Service details to come. In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to Ohio's Hospice in her memory: https://www.ohioshospice.org/give/ b1cf
