Tony Joe Breece

Tony Joe Breece, 77, was born on February 22, 1949, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, public servant, and friend, Tony passed away on August 16, 2026.

Tony proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard and dedicated much of his life to law enforcement and public service. Throughout his career, he served with the Highway Patrol, worked as an investigator with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and retired as a Franklin County sheriff’s deputy. Even after his retirement, Tony continued giving back as a dedicated volunteer with the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office.

Above all, Tony was a devoted family man. He shared 35 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara, and was a loving father and grandfather who could always be counted on.

A talented craftsman, Tony took great pride in building things with his hands. He often created special gifts for those he loved and was always willing to lend a hand whenever someone needed him. He enjoyed the outdoors, reading, John Wayne movies, pizza and Pepsi, and spending time with his family. Tony also had a special love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Daisy.

Tony is survived by his wife, Barbara E. Breece; his mother, Barbara J. Breece; his children, Megan Breece, Greg Breece, Kent (Christina) Reid, and Richard (Jamie) Reid; his brother, Kelly Breece; his sisters, Janelle Harley and Shelley (Andy) Boehler; three grandchildren; and his niece and nephew.

Tony will be remembered for his honesty, strong work ethic, service to others, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come.

A life of service, a love of family, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
