Troy Loren Jones

Troy Loren Jones, 55, of Granville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 29, after an unexpected and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Canton, Ohio, on November 16, 1970, to Ted and Trudy Jones, Troy graduated from Hoover High School in North Canton in 1989 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from New York University in 1993.

A true polymath, Troy possessed an extraordinary ability to see patterns and connections—a gift he brought to innovative information technology projects at companies including The Voyager Company, Mills James, Limited Brands, Neulogic, and FITCH. At home, he was a masterful DIY enthusiast whose endless projects added beauty and comfort to his family’s surroundings.

Troy’s love of music—especially live performances—was boundless. He seemed to know the lyrics to every song and shared that joy generously with those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Fukumori; brother, Trent Jones; sister, Taryn Fitzpatrick; father, Ted Jones (and stepmother Beverly); mother, Trudy Jones; mother-in-law, Mutsuko Fukumori; brother-in-law, Ichiro Fukumori; and sister-in-law, Toshiko Magnus. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him—including his beloved cat, Quinn, and dogs, Boku and Bailey. In fond memory of Troy, his family invites those who wish to celebrate his life to sing or play their favorite song—or one that reminds them of Troy.
