Trudy McDonald

In Loving Memory of Trudy “Memaw” McDonald.

Trudy D. McDonald, 78, of Marion, Ohio, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Marion General Hospital.  She was born on August 28, 1945, to the late Donald and Doris Webb (Corrick) in Barberton, Ohio.

On August 31, 1963, in Glenview, Illinois Trudy married the late William “Bill” T. McDonald and supported him in his over 22-year career with the Navy and 20-year career with Marion Correctional Institution.    

Trudy was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, sister, and friend, as well as a devoted Memaw and caregiver to her beloved grandkids and great grandkids. 

Trudy was known for her spunky spirit, giving heart, compassionate soul, and most of all for being the matriarch of her family.  She was the biggest fan in the stands and never missed an event for her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  She loved spending time with family, going to church, shopping, yard sales, camping, playing cards, and spending time with her late husband at Lake Erie.  She loved her church family and attended MarionNaz and White Oaks Freewill Baptist.  Trudy and her contagious spirit will be dearly missed by her family and friends.   

Trudy leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Ann McDonald (Mark Bukovac) of Prospect, Ohio, and two sons: Jeffrey Thomas McDonald and Robert Thomas (Brenda) McDonald both of Newark, Ohio; four grandsons: Matthew (Naomi), Craig, Kevin (Lynn), and Bryce (Emma); four great grandkids, Ashly, Adalyn, Auren, and Beau; a sister Wanda (Harold) Koltnow, three brothers Donald, Keith (Claudia), and Curt Webb and many friends, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents, Trudy was preceded in death by two brothers Dennis and Larry Webb. 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Trudy held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Noon at MarionNaz located at 233 W Church Street, Marion, Ohio.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Steve Estep.  Friends may call at the church two hours prior from 10:00 A.M. – Noon.
