Velma M. Jolliff

Velma M. Jolliff, 88, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on the afternoon of August 18, 2026 in Galena, Ohio.

Velma graced this earth with her presence on November 13, 1937, welcomed into the world by her loving parents, Samuel and Rhonda Craig.

She married her soulmate, Larry, on July 13, 1958. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Julie Davis (Bob), Joni Swanson (Tom), and Rawlin Jolliff. Their family continued to grow with two grandchildren, Christy Steece (James) and Robert Davis, whom Velma loved dearly.

Velma is also survived by her beloved brother, Raymond (Christine), and their family, who shared many special memories and cherished moments with her throughout the years.

Velma and Larry spent much of their free time together at the Hot Air Balloon Club and Grotto, where they made countless memories and treasured friendships. They loved spending time with the people who became such an important part of their lives.

During their retirement, Velma and Larry were enjoying their time together when Larry passed away. Velma then spent the next 20 years dedicating her life to the people she loved most—her family. She was a constant source of love, comfort, wisdom, and unconditional support.

She was blessed to watch her four great-grandchildren, Julianah, Jaxson, Oakleigh, and Oliver, grow up, filling her days with joy and memories. She was eagerly looking forward to meeting her fifth great-grandchild, due to arrive in November.

Velma's family is devastated by her unexpected loss, but they find comfort in knowing that she is now in Heaven, reunited with Larry and all of the loved ones who went before her. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable emptiness, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever.

We will carry her with us in every story, every laugh, and every memory. We will remember the experiences we were blessed to share with her and the love she gave so freely.

And until the day we meet again, we will look for her in every rainbow and every butterfly, knowing that one day, at Heaven's gate, we will finally get to hug her again.

Services will be held September 19th, 2026 at Genoa Baptist Church in Westerville @ 2pm - 4pm.
