Vickie Cordell

April 14, 1948 — August 20, 2021

(Vickie) Sue Cordell, 73, of Columbus, Ohio left us on August 20, 2021 and went home to be with the Lord after a short illness.

Sue is survived by her sisters Brenda (Bob) Ream of Clay City, Indiana and Linda Lewis of Greenwood, Louisiana; her brother Randy Cordell of Greenwood, Louisiana; her extended family Duane Huddleston, Joe Batross and Tim Loney all from Columbus, Ohio; and her precious Onyx. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Matt (Abby)     Sutton, Becky (Michael) Hughes, Angie (Travis) Schopmeyer, Jason (Alicia) Cordell and Kayla Cordell and fiancée Ben Dye, and many more great nieces.

She is predeceased by her mother, Phyllis Cordell, her father, Lexie Cordell, step-mother Wanda Cordell, and her brother in law Jerry Lewis.

Sue was born April 14, 1948 in Brazil, Indiana to Lexie and Phyllis Cordell. She started her career at Western Electric in Indianapolis, IN and transferred to Columbus Ohio in 1968 where she made her home for the last fifty-three years.

Sue retired in January 2017. While employed, she held many management positions during her 45+ years with AT&T and continued working for them during each buyout: AT&T, then Lucent Technologies and finally Alcatel-Lucent.

Sue played many instruments and enjoyed playing the piano the most. Sue was very active in the church and used her talents at various churches in the Columbus area. She enjoyed writing cantatas and directing choirs. She was also a soloist and used that talent for the Lord.

Sue had a big heart and will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew and loved her.

Sue chose to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held from 3 to 5 pm at CrossRoads Baptist Church on Saturday August 28th, 2021.
