Yz Baxter

Yz Baxter, age 79, sunrise July 7th, 1940 in Clio, Alabama and sunset September 16th, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio at home surrounded by his family and friends.  Yz worked at Joyce Iron & Metal, where he enjoyed working on cars. Yz enjoyed playing cards, going fishing and listening to his blues music.  Yz had many children left to cherish him in memory: Issac Baxter, WillieRoy Baxter, Mary Jane Byrd, Besie Mae Stallworth (Calvin), Denorris Hall, Haywood Baxter (Michelle), Leisha Baxter- Henley (Robert), Cierra Baxter, Mario Dovell, Leugene Baxter, Mark, Felecia Phillips, Douglas Phillips, Teresa Leggit, Cedric Baxter, Crystal Baxter, Cousin: Lamar Baxter.  Yz was the only child to his mother, but had sisters and brothers from his dad, brothers: Issac and Johnny.  Yz had a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so many good friends.  Yz had great friendships with his children’s mothers Lillie Nivens and Chris Dovell-Washington (Edward).  Yz was widowed by Mildred B. Baxter who resided in Alabama.  Yz was preceded in death by his parents Mary & Issac Baxter, Cousins, Jr. Baxter and “Uncle Buddy”, Best Friends Eric and “Sweets” and good friend Sandra Harper.

A visitation is being held Monday, September 23, 2019 from 11:00 am - 12 Noon at the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Where Yz funeral service will follow at 12 Noon.
