Ann Hunger

August 24, 1948 — June 27, 2021

Ann Otte Hunger, age 72, passed away at home on Sunday, June 27th, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, Ohio August 24th, 1948 to the late Richard “Dick” and Marjory Otte.  Ann is lovingly survived by her daughter Samantha (Keith) Hollern and her grandchildren Dylan (Sierra Massey), Ethan and Sydney; her brothers John Otte (Libby), Jim Otte (Sheila Hinton) Otte, and Bill Otte (Lynda); and her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Ann attended The Ohio State University and remained an avid fan, even getting a job as an usher so that she could attend every game. Anyone who knew her was aware of her lucky buckeyes that she wore every football Saturday. She had the same necklace for well over 25 years. She was dedicated to her job as a Realtor for Keller Williams and enjoyed mentoring new agents as they learned the business. She was a graduate of the 2018/2019 Columbus Realtors Leadership Academy. Ann had a passion for volunteering, especially if it benefitted Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The hospital held a very special place in her heart because of her granddaughter Sydney. She was proud to volunteer at The Memorial Tournament for 43 years, and also gave her time to Kinder Key, Twig and the  Women’s Auxiliary Council. Ann was the president of the Westerville Area Realtors Association, the co-vice chair for the Columbus Board of Realtors Foundation Fundraising Committee, a CBR Trustee member and the CORPAC fundraising and golf outing chair. Throughout her career and  volunteering she has made many amazing friends. Ann was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in February. She fought hard, with several hospital stays in between treatments. Her family wants to extend a thank you to her medical team and especially the nurses and techs on the 17th floor of The James Cancer Hospital. The care that she received there was nothing less than exceptional. A celebration of life is being planned with details to come soon. Donations can be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ann’s name. Checks can be made payable to Nationwide Children’s and mailed to P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-6810 or online at NationwideChildrens.org/Giving.
