Arminta King

October 27, 1954 — November 30, 2021

Arminta was born October 27, 1954 to Jesse Lee Fowler and Jowillie Cowans in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this earthly life November 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Arminta affectionately known as Momma, NaNa, Many, Sister, Auntie and friend received her education from the Chicago education system and then later went on to attend beautician school. Mommy aka NaNa was and always will be a beacon of light. She was full of spirituality, laughter, wisdom, and even sarcasm. She loved hard, played even harder, and made everyone feel welcomed. She embraced her flaws and didn’t judge others for theirs. To know Arminta was to love Arminta. Arminta was also a skilled seamstress, crocheter, and artist. Many of us have been blessed by one of her creations from her brand Azyoulikeit.

Arminta is preceded in death by her parents Jesse Lee Fowler and Jowillie Cowans; and son Darius King.

Arminta is survived by her children Kenneth King, Veneise Monroe, Lashauna Monroe, Taurrence Spooner I, Johnnita Rayner, and Johnny Rayner; brother General Cowans; sister Lana Cowans, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

This is not a goodbye for this is not what we say. Although we will miss you and would have given anything to have you stay. We shall hold close to the memories and continue on, for we are your legacy.  So for now we say we love you and see you later our Queen.

The family of Arminta King would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your expressions of condolences.
