Barbara Brown

Barbara 'Barb' A Brown, age 79, a resident of Grove City, Ohio.  Barb passed on October 31, 2020 at her residence. Barb was born on April 1, 1941. The eldest of two daughters to parents Adam Andrews and Barbara (Bobbie) White. Karen Christley is her younger sister.  She was born and raised in McDonald, Ohio and was a McDonald Blue Devil! Barba was married twice. The first of which was to Jimmy Whittaker.  The two were married on April 22, 1960   Barb and Jim had 5 beautiful Daughters. They loved going to flea markets and auctions.  Later in life Barb met and married John Brown in January 15, 1979.  John was a local racecar driver and Barb loved attending his races and cheering him on from the stands and the pits.  She worked at the Salvation Army from 1977 until she retired in 2000. She held many positions there from Store manager to sorting room supervisor and more.  After retirement she took a part-time job with the Girl Scouts of America where she worked for about two years.  Barb was definitely an animal lover and had pets all her life.  Most recent are Daisy and Jasper.  She also loved Giraffes.  One of Barbs most joyous days is when her family took her to the Columbus Zoo, and she got to feed the giraffes.  She absolutely loved it.   Barb also liked to crochet and was so happy she was able to complete a blanket for her newest Great Granddaughter born on October 12th.  Barb loved to spend time with family especially around the holidays.  She loved to make Christmas cookies and breads.  Barb was a great cook with an Italian heritage.  She would have been 80 on her next birthday and will be dearly missed by all!   "Don't think of her as gone away her journey's just begun life holds so many facets this earth is only one"   - unknown author. Barb is survived by her daughters Renee (Troy) Copley, Shari Tisdale, Susan (Frank) Kalman, Tina Whittaker; 6 grandchildren Joe Ebelender, Jessica Ebelender, Troy Copley, Courtney Copley, Chad Copley and Daniel Kalmen; 14 Great Grandchildren Nick, Kaylee, Christopher, Maddi, Connor, Mason, Kylie, Jaden, Cassidy, Abby, Twins Troy and Travis, Bruce and Lena; sister Karen Christley , two nieces and, a nephew.  She is predeceased by both her parents Adam and Bobbie; husband's Jimmy Whittaker and John Brown; her daughter Tammy; dear friend Robert Hall. Barb did not want a funeral service.  However, there will be a celebration of life for family and friends on Tuesday, November 10th from 4-8 at GCKA, 4570 Haugh Rd, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
