Barbara Sachs

June 3, 1953 — October 30, 2021

Barbara Joan Sachs, age 68, also known to her friends and family as Aunt Barb, Barbie, Smelly, Babs and Momma, went home to be with the Lord on October 30th, 2021, in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Barbara was born on June 3rd,1953, to Robert and Dorothy (Sauls) Wagner.

After graduating from Linden McKinley High School, Barbara’s early career focused on customer service roles. No professional role could be compared to her skills as a mother. When Barbara started working as a nanny for family and friends later in life, it was obvious she’d found her calling. Children were her heart and she had infinite love and patience for them. Whether in her role as a mother or friend, her positive energy was a beacon to so many in search of comfort. She should be looked to as an example of selfless love for humanity and animals alike. In her down time, Barbara absolutely reveled in embarrassing her children with “funny” baby stories, listening to only the best of alternative rock and soaking up the sun from Buckeye Lake to Clearwater Beach.

Barbara is survived by her son Matthew (Mandy), her daughter Samantha (J.J.) and her brother Gary (Pam). She also leaves behind many beloved family members and friends. Barbara was proceeded in death by her husband Philip Sachs, her parents, her stepmother Betty Wagner, her brother Robert Wagner Jr., and her stepbrother Larry “Butch” Bowers.

We will be celebrating the life of Barbara, our dear mom, on Friday, November 5th, 2021, between 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Embassy Suites Columbus - Dublin, 5100 Upper Metro Place, Dublin, Ohio 43017. To honor her wishes, we welcome friends and family to bring their memories, laughs, and stories to share with one another. We will listen to her favorite bands as we send cheers to such a remarkable woman. Band tees, Bengals, Buckeyes and Bears gear is encouraged.
