Essie Bush

Ms. Essie Bush, daughter of Tommie and Mary Myers-Bush, was born on March 24, 1950 in Americus, Georgia. On Thursday, October 31, 2019, Essie peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord, with her children right by her side.

Growing up Essie enjoyed being the middle child of her four siblings, Robert, Barbara, Jeanette, and Eva “Ruth” Bush. Essie spend most of her life with her family in Albany, Georgia, Miami, Florida, and Columbus, Ohio. Early in her childhood Essie met Willie C. Williams and later in their adult life they would bring forth three beautiful children, Willis, Wendell, and Wynetta. Essie was an avid reader, loved family, cooking, traveling, shopping and especially enjoyed writing. Essie had a beautiful, kind, loving, and generous spirit. She will be greatly missed.

Essie was preceded in death by her mother Mary Myers-Bush, father Tommie Bush, and brother Robert Bush. Those she leaves to cherish her memory are spouse Willie Williams, sisters Barbara Bush, Jeanette (Alfred) Whitaker, Eva “Ruth” Bush, son Willis Bush, son Wendell (Bridget) Bush, daughter Wynetta Bush, grandchildren Daijah Bush, Diore Bush, Katrina Stewart, Marquis “Denzel” Braxton, Aaron Sims-Bush, Jeanetta Bush, Houston Bush, Lynnetta Bush, Donna “Brazil” Bush, Grayson Bush, and Grant Bush, great granddaughter Zanoebia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held on November 8, 2019 at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes, Victorian Village Chapel, 34 W 2nd Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201. The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 6 pm to 7 pm, with the service beginning at 7 pm. A repast will be held promptly following the services from 8:30 pm to 11 pm at the VFW Post 9473, 1420 S Waggoner Rd, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. If you are attending the repast the family asks that you please park and enter on the left side of the building.
