Jeremy Thomas Letzelter, age 44, left us so young and unexpectedly on April 19, 2021. He was born on March 19, 1977. Jeremy was loved by all with his incredibly big heart, calming and easy-going temperament, generous soul, sense of humor, and the warm smile he always wore. In hard times and in good, Jeremy always turned to God and his faith and found comfort in reading the Bible. He did not judge others. His family was everything to him, and he was everything to his family.
Jeremy is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Amy McIlvoy-Letzelter, and four children: Chandlyr (20), Adilayde (17), Rosie (16), Isaiah (12), his pets Millie, Hickory, Simba, Jello, his parents Terry and Betty Letzelter, his siblings Amy (Tom) Milligan, Phil (Randi) Letzelter, mother-in-law Judy McIlvoy and father-in-law John McIlvoy, siblings-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Jeremy graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1995. Jeremy “Hustler” was a hard working entrepreneur and went on to establish several businesses over the years including roofing, car detailing, car dealerships, and an ice cream enterprise, before settling into real estate. His experience with entrepreneurship, along with his easy-going personality and attention to detail, served him well as he moved into real estate and quickly became successful. He was the team lead of The Coldwell Banker Dream Team and was working with his partner and dear friend Kristy Brown and more recently his cousin Matt Letzelter. Jeremy brought many into the career of realty and mentored them along the way. His team participated in social outreach programs, positively touched many lives, and frequently won top real estate awards:
International President’s Circle Individual 2018, Small Team 2019, 2020
Top Listing, Selling & Closing Small Team 2019, 2020
Jeremy was also recognized for closing over 100 properties in 2020
Jeremy enjoyed anything that meant spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed intense workouts or walks with the dogs with his family, making homemade meals together, date nights with his wife, family vacations, having goofy moments and good laughs with his family and friends, baking homemade cakes themed for his children’s birthdays, completing school projects with his kids, watching his children’s sporting events, working festivals with his dad and mom making Smoking Ice Cream, ushering many years at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, visiting extended family in St. Louis, watching a good movie with his family, playing volleyball, celebrating many holiday traditions, tackling house projects with his dad, and chasing the next entrepreneur opportunity. Jeremy truly enjoyed outside activities with his family: jumping on the trampoline, playing paintball, hot tubbing, snow skiing, hosting cook outs, and having bonfires. Jeremy loved to engage in new adventures: horseback riding, deep sea fishing, zip lining, water tubing, and canoeing.
Aldi’s lover, money saver, silly face maker, strange healthy food eater and animal whisperer are all things that bring Jeremy to mind. He was a special person to all and will be greatly missed.
