In loving memory of John Michael Botkin, Husband, Father, and best friend.

August 30th, 1956 to January 1st, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Elaine Botkin, His daughter Nichole Botkin, And his daughter and son in law Catherine and Leonard Stamper.

John was a proud member of the Columbus North High school class of 1974. He was the writer and editor of the Polar bear Alumni Association Newsletter. John also spent time building and keeping the Columbus North High website update. He spent time working on the website for the class of 1974 North as well. When North high school had their North on the fourth every July 4th, He was a major part of the Tenor section of the Alumni Choir.

HE was a proud and devoted member of Clinton Heights Lutheran Church. He served as the webmaster of the church website. He served 3 terms on church council. During that time, he was chair of the congregation two times. He was also a proud member of the Senior choir’s Tenor section. He spent many years serving as a pastor assistant. Until the pandemic every summer before that starting in 2008, he loved to sing a duet with his youngest Catherine during one of the services in July.

John loved His sports. Whether it was being a die heart Ohio State Buckeyes Fan during college football and basketball season. Or it was being a die heart Cleveland browns fan during the NFL season. He was also a true-blue fan of the Cleveland Indians during the MLB season. Starting in 2001 he even became a fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets. He loved his job of being the statistician and webmaster of his fantasy Football league, which he had been apart of for 32 years.

He worked for The Ohio State University Hospital for over 30 years. Inn conclusion he will be missed by family, friends, and those closest to him. Later this year there will be a Celebration of his life held at Clinton Heights. Any donations that you would like to give in his memory can be given to Clinton Heights Lutheran Church.
